How to stream iPhone games on OBS on a Windows PC

Updated 26 September 2026 · 5 min read

Short answer

Install ByteMirror on the PC, plug the iPhone in with its charging cable and tap Trust, then add a ByteMirror Phone source in OBS Studio. The game and its sound arrive as one source, with no capture card, HDMI adapter or iTunes. AirPlay over Wi-Fi works too if you'd rather not use a cable.

On a Mac, QuickTime can show an iPhone's screen. On Windows there is no built-in way, which is why most guides send you to a capture card and an HDMI adapter.

ByteMirror does it with the cable you already charge the iPhone with. It captures the screen and the game's sound over USB and hands both to OBS Studio as one source.

Steps

  1. 1Install ByteMirrorDownload ByteMirror for Windows and run the installer. Leave the OBS Studio option ticked so the ByteMirror Phone source is added to OBS.
  2. 2Plug in the iPhone and unlock itUse a cable that carries data. The first time, ByteMirror offers to set up its USB driver for the iPhone; accept it and allow the Windows prompt. You don't need iTunes.
  3. 3Tap Trust on the iPhoneThe iPhone asks whether to trust the PC. Tap Trust and enter your passcode. You only do this once per PC. If the prompt never appears, restart the iPhone and plug it in again.
  4. 4Add the source in OBSIn OBS Studio, click + under Sources, choose ByteMirror Phone, pick your iPhone and click OK. The game and its sound appear together.
  5. 5Set the sceneResize the source to fill the canvas, add your facecam and overlays, then start streaming as usual. The game's sound has its own slider in the OBS audio mixer.

Cable or AirPlay?

The cable is steadier, charges the phone while you play and works on any network. AirPlay needs no cable: open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring and choose your PC. If you use AirPlay, add the OBS source before you start mirroring.

Quality

The free plan streams at 720p and 30 frames per second. Pro and Lifetime go up to 1080p at 60 frames per second and remove the watermark.
