ByteMirror

OBS Studio

Your phone, as a source in OBS Studio.

The ByteMirror Phone source brings an iPhone or Android screen with its game sound, or a phone camera, into OBS Studio on Windows, without window capture or a capture card.

Setup

Add the source.

The ByteMirror installer adds the source to OBS Studio. The phone connects when the source is visible, and stops sending video when it isn't.

  1. 1Install ByteMirror with the OBS Studio option ticked. It's ticked by default.
  2. 2In OBS Studio, click + under Sources and choose ByteMirror Phone.
  3. 3Pick a phone, and whether you want its screen or its camera.
  4. 4Click OK.

Scenes

Game and facecam in one scene.

Use one phone for the game and another for the camera, each as its own source. Pro and Lifetime allow up to 5 phones at once.

Sound

The game's sound comes with it.

Each source carries its phone's sound. It shows up in the OBS audio mixer under the source's name, so you can set the level or mute it like any other source.

Performance

Light on your PC.

The phone does the encoding in hardware. OBS receives the phone's own video, and ByteMirror decodes it on your graphics card when one is available.

Requirements

What you need.
