ByteMirror

What's new.

Changes in each release, newest first. Test builds up to 0.1.6 shipped under the working name, Castly.

  1. Test build 0.1.7

    27 September 2026

    • Castly is ByteMirror now: the Windows app, its OBS source and the Android app. Updating keeps your paired phones, the iPhone cable setup and your OBS scenes.
    • A new look on Windows and Android, the same as this website's.
    • Preview several phones at once in the Windows app. Each gets a tile shaped like its screen.
    • In OBS, each ByteMirror Phone source shows a phone's screen or its camera. "Any phone doing this" picks a phone doing that job.
    • Two OBS sources can show the same phone.
  2. Test build 0.1.6

    26 September 2026

    • The app no longer crashes when you close it.
    • The iPhone camera page drops late frames on slow Wi-Fi instead of falling behind.
    • If an iPhone never asks to trust the PC, the app tells you to restart the iPhone.
  3. Test build 0.1.5

    26 September 2026

    • iPhone over USB: ByteMirror now pairs with the iPhone itself. Tap Trust once and the screen streams, without iTunes.
    • Tested on an iPhone 16 and an iPhone 17 running iOS 26.
  4. Test build 0.1.4

    26 September 2026

    • Choose which graphics card decodes the video, or let ByteMirror pick. It falls back to the processor by itself.
