Terms of service
Last updated 30 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and ByteKnot Labs LLP. They apply when you use ByteMirror, visit this website, create an account or buy a plan. By doing any of these, you accept them. If you don't accept them, please don't use ByteMirror.
Who we are
ByteMirror is a product of ByteKnot Labs LLP, an Indian limited liability partnership (LLPIN [LLPIN]). Our registered office is at [registered office address], India. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean ByteKnot Labs LLP.
If you use ByteMirror for a company or team, you confirm that you're allowed to accept these terms on its behalf, and "you" includes it.
What these terms cover
These terms cover everything we call ByteMirror:
- The ByteMirror Windows app, including its background engine
- The ByteMirror source for OBS Studio (a plugin)
- The ByteMirror Android app
- The iPhone camera page, which the Windows app serves on your local network
- This website, https://bytemirror.app, and ByteMirror accounts
When you install the software, the license agreement also applies. The refund policy is part of these terms. The privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.
Your account
The free plan doesn't need an account. You need one to buy Pro or Lifetime and to use a paid plan in the app.
You can sign up with an email address and password, or with Google. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service.
You must be at least 16 years old to use ByteMirror or create an account. An account is for one person, so don't share it. Keep your sign-in details safe, and email [email protected] straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
We may suspend or close an account that is used for fraud or abuse.
You can delete your account from the account page. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first. Deleting your account ends your access to paid features, including Lifetime.
Signing in on your PCs
The Windows app signs in through your web browser. Each PC you sign in on is listed on your account page, and you can sign it out from there.
The app checks your plan with our servers about once a day. It keeps working offline for up to 7 days. If it can't check in for longer than that, it falls back to the free plan until it can check again.
Plans
There are four plans. The pricing page compares them in detail.
Free
The free plan needs no account. It includes every feature at 720p and 30 frames per second, with one phone at a time. There's no watermark for the first 7 days after you first launch ByteMirror on a PC. From then on, the first 30 minutes of each day have no watermark, and a small watermark appears after that.
Pro
Pro costs $5.99 a month or $39.99 a year. It gives you 1080p at 60 frames per second with no watermark and up to 5 phones at once, and you can use it on 2 PCs. Pro is a subscription that renews automatically.
Lifetime
Lifetime costs $49.99, paid once. It gives you Pro features and updates up to and including version 1.x on one PC. You can move it to a new PC from your account page.
Studio
Studio is for teams. It's sold under a separate contract and paid by invoice. To ask for a quote, contact us. Where a Studio contract differs from these terms, the contract applies.
Prices and payment
Prices are in US dollars and don't include tax. Paddle adds VAT or sales tax where your country requires it, and shows the total before you pay.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
You buy Pro and Lifetime from Paddle, and Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase. Paddle emails you a receipt for every payment and issues your invoices. You can also find them on your account page.
Subscriptions
Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from your account page, or from Paddle's customer portal, which is linked there. After you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you've paid for. Then the app goes back to the free plan.
If a renewal payment fails, Paddle tries it again. If the payment keeps failing, the subscription is cancelled and the app goes back to the free plan.
We may change the price of Pro. If a change affects your subscription, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, so you can cancel first if you want to.
Refunds
You can get a full refund within 14 days of your first payment for Pro or Lifetime. The refund policy explains how, and when a renewal can be refunded.
Using ByteMirror
You agree not to:
- Use ByteMirror to break the law or to infringe anyone else's rights, such as the copyright in what you capture or stream

The license agreement sets out the full rules for the software.
Warranty
To the extent the law allows, we provide ByteMirror "as is", without warranties. ByteMirror relies on iOS, Android and AirPlay, which Apple and Google can change at any time. We can't promise that it will keep working with every phone or with every future version of those systems.
If you're a consumer, you keep the rights that consumer law gives you and that a contract can't take away.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims relating to ByteMirror is limited to the amount you paid for ByteMirror in the 12 months before the claim. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data, or a lost stream or recording.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we'll email account holders before it takes effect. If you keep using ByteMirror after that, the updated terms apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of [city], India have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, including any right to bring a claim in your local courts.
