Phone as webcam
Use your phone as a webcam.
Your phone's camera is sharper than most webcams. ByteMirror sends it to your Windows PC over Wi-Fi, where it works as a camera source in OBS Studio.
iPhone
iPhone: a page in Safari.
Nothing to install on the iPhone. The camera page runs in Safari and sends the camera to your PC over Wi-Fi.
- 1In ByteMirror, click Add phone and choose iPhone camera. A code appears.
- 2Scan the code with the iPhone's Camera app. Safari opens the camera page.
- 3The first time, Safari warns about your PC's security certificate. ByteMirror shows the taps that get past it.
- 4Allow the camera. It appears in ByteMirror.
The camera page needs iOS 16.4 or later. Keep Safari open with the screen on while you stream.
Android
Android: the ByteMirror app.
The app sends the front or back camera, and the phone's mic if you want it.
- 1Pair the phone with ByteMirror: click Add phone and scan the code with the app.
- 2In the app, choose Camera and pick the front or back camera.
- 3The camera appears in ByteMirror.
The camera works on Android 8 or later. With USB debugging (Pro mode), Android 12 or later can also send the camera over a USB cable.
Video calls
In Zoom, Teams or Meet.
Add the phone camera to OBS Studio as a ByteMirror Phone source, click Start Virtual Camera in OBS, then choose OBS Virtual Camera as the camera in your call app.
