ByteMirror

iPhone to PC

Your iPhone on your PC, by cable or Wi-Fi.

Plug your iPhone into a Windows PC, or mirror it over AirPlay, and see its screen with sound in the ByteMirror window or in OBS Studio.

USB cable

By cable, without iTunes.

The cable gives the steadiest picture and charges the phone while you stream. ByteMirror talks to the iPhone directly, so you don't need iTunes or Apple Devices.

  1. 1Install ByteMirror and open it.
  2. 2Plug in your iPhone and unlock it.
  3. 3The first time, ByteMirror offers to set up its USB driver. Accept it and allow the Windows prompt.
  4. 4Tap Trust on the iPhone and enter your passcode. You only do this once per PC.
  5. 5Click the iPhone in the list. Its screen and sound appear.

While ByteMirror uses the iPhone over USB, iTunes and Apple Devices can't see it. To switch back, right-click the iPhone in ByteMirror and choose to give it back to Apple's driver. If the iPhone never asks to trust the PC, restart the iPhone and plug it in again.

AirPlay

Over AirPlay, no cable.

While ByteMirror is open, your PC appears in the iPhone's Screen Mirroring list. Both need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.

  1. 1Open ByteMirror on the PC.
  2. 2On the iPhone, open Control Center and tap Screen Mirroring.
  3. 3Choose your PC from the list.
  4. 4The screen appears in ByteMirror, with sound.

Some office, school and hotel networks block AirPlay. Use the cable on those.

OBS Studio

Straight into OBS.

The installer adds a ByteMirror Phone source to OBS Studio. Screen and game sound come in as one source.

  1. 1In OBS Studio, click + under Sources and choose ByteMirror Phone.
  2. 2Pick your iPhone in the source settings and click OK.

Camera

The iPhone's camera works too.

Open the ByteMirror camera page in Safari to send the iPhone's camera to your PC over Wi-Fi, with nothing to install. See the phone-as-webcam page for the steps.
