Open-source notices

Last updated 26 September 2026

ByteMirror includes open-source software. This page lists each component, its license and a link to the project. Thank you to everyone who builds and maintains them.

Each component is licensed under its own license. Nothing in the ByteMirror license agreement limits the rights those licenses give you.

The AirPlay receiver is a separate program, and it uses UxPlay, llhttp and libplist. The ByteMirror source for OBS Studio uses libobs.

Source code

Two parts of ByteMirror are open source themselves: the AirPlay receiver, under GPL-3.0, and the ByteMirror source for OBS Studio, under GPL-2.0-or-later. Their complete source code is published at [source code address].

The source code of the other GPL and LGPL components we distribute, including any changes we made to them, is at the same address. You can also ask for it by emailing [email protected]. This offer is valid for three years from the date we last distributed that version.

You may replace the LGPL libraries in ByteMirror, such as the Qt, FFmpeg and libusb DLLs, with your own compatible builds. The license agreement doesn't restrict this.
